Supporting Recovery After the LA Fires

Mental Health Code + Pasadena PAL

The worst days don’t come with instructions.
That’s why we’re here.

In the wake of the devastating LA fires, Mental Health Code (MHC) is committed to helping communities heal—mentally, emotionally, and relationally. Through our partnership with Pasadena PAL (Police Activities League), we’re delivering free Mental Health First Aid, trauma-informed programs, and healing activities for the children, families, and mentors most affected.

Why This Matters

The emotional fallout of disasters like the LA fires can last long after the flames are gone. Our response is focused on building resilience, restoring trust, and empowering young people and caretakers with lifelong mental health skills.

What We’re Doing Through PAL

Horticultural and Flower Therapy

Officers and mentors are equipped to recognize and respond to emotional distress, creating a ripple effect of care throughout the community.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training

Hands-on, calming activities that reduce anxiety and promote emotional regulation and creativity in young minds.

Therapy Dog Program "Meet George"

George offers kids a calming presence, boosting comfort, connection, and healing through every visit.

Internal Structure Building

Establishing routine and emotional safety for PAL youth, which fosters trust, lowers anxiety, and models stable, caring environments.

Kids C.O.D.E. Curriculum

Teaching emotional regulation, resilience, communication, and problem-solving—so kids can navigate life with strength and self-awareness.

Your Support Changes Lives

Donors and partners aren’t just funding a program.

You’re investing in emotional safety, resilience, and healing for kids and families in crisis.

Every contribution helps us bring trauma-informed care and life-saving mental health education to those who need it most.
